Who can submit a film to NISFF?
NISFF is open to filmmakers from all over the world. Whether you are a student, an independent filmmaker, or a professional, we welcome submissions that showcase unique storytelling and cinematic excellence.
What are the eligibility criteria for short films?
Films must be under 40 minutes in duration (including credits). All genres are accepted, including fiction, documentary, animation, and experimental. Films must have been completed after January 1, 2022.
Do I need subtitles for my film?
Yes. If your film is in a language other than English, it must include hard-coded English subtitles. Films without subtitles may be disqualified from the selection process.
Can I submit multiple films?
Yes, you can submit multiple entries. However, each film must be submitted separately with its own entry fee and submission form.
Does NISFF require premiere status?
No, we do not strictly require premiere status. Your film can be available online or have been screened at other festivals. However, we prioritize films that offer a fresh experience for our audience.
How will I know if my film is selected?
All submitters will be notified via email on the notification date listed on our schedule. The official list of selected films ("Official Selection") will also be published on our website and social media channels.
Can I withdraw my submission?
You may withdraw your film at any time. However, please note that submission fees are non-refundable once the submission has been processed. Please refer to our Refund Policy for more details.
